Actually I can confirm, knowing a couple gold farmers that there is no actual Dupe on the Sand, or other Vial of the Sands mats as people have been saying... but what I have learned is that they have found that they can actually buy up these vendor mats and put them into a guild bank as a way of storing their gold... apparently if they do this and they don't have a current buyer, they just load up the guild bank with more and more mats, and when the toon gets banned, all they need to do is make another toon and get it invited to the guild because blizz, for whatever reason, is not clearing out guild banks mats, just gold. For now Blizz hasn't caught on at least, or they are ignoring it.

it is a way to ensure that their gold is not going to be taken away, so they can get 50 accounts banned, but all their gold is still there on the server. They might lose some gold in the sale, but the overall loss is not as high as how much gold they were losing to accounts being banned. Also, when they finally do get a buyer, selling at a massive undercut from the vendor means instant sales, which in turn means fast delivery to the buyer. I have bought at least 200+ sands so far from 2 different farmers,, have made 15 or so vials with them and I can massively undercut competition with a huge profit, allowing me to sell vial of the sands rather rapidly, compared to before when I was selling for 40k+ and getting maybe 1-2 buyers a week... at 30k price I am still making like a 10k-12kish profit and no one is even competing against me cause they think I am selling at a loss...

I have even had people get mad at me asking why I am selling at a loss and I just say that I got ambitious and bought a TON of mats thinking I was gonna get rich and realized I was dumb and just trying to clear them all out

Sklug hard to believe that all the suddenly out of the blue for the first time ever this thing started happening in several servers at the same time.
Like on my server they've sold 500+ Sands of Time for 1k each. This means they have spent 1.5 million gold to get 500k back? If they sell for $1/1k, they are making so big loss that
they could just save 90% of that money by getting more accounts and gbanks and spreading the gold over them.

Why would they be selling the sands of time on the auction house when they could just sell them to vendor and get 750 gold and avoid suspicion?

Either you misunderstood what you heard / saw, or you are using the term "dupe" loosely.

Unfortunately, the fact that we're discussing this at all shows that the people who have been using it have already been careless. Flooding the economy with a single item isn't wise, and driving the prices to such absurdities is flat out stupid. Even if the exploit didn't allow for reselling the item directly to a vendor (and avoiding much possible suspicion all together), they should have at least been more long term oriented and avoided this situation.

Perhaps you are not aware that the RAOV exploit group discovered a way to make duplicates of any item in the game, including mounts, unique items, sands of time, etc?

The vast majority of items cannot be effectively duped anymore. I'm not saying that there isn't a method around at the moment, I'm saying it simply isn't possible. Anyone who has a dupe method and tries it on a unique item is being foolish and risking their exploit for little to no gain. Note that I'm not saying that a dupe is useless.

Just wanted to mention that I am in no way affiliated with RAOV, nor have I followed or subscribed to them since the announcement of their gold selling. I'm an explorer, not an exploiter, and was simply responding to CatSteven's comment.

I don't know anything about duping in WoW... except a video I watched (from RAOV) that showed them creating multiple copies of items. I imagine the method (if it even works) involves some of their previous working exploits (lag macro, disconnect macro...GOD mode... maybe vendoring items and buying them back with a heavy lag or a different phase, or somethinglikethat)...

You seem to know that "items cannot be effectively duped anymore"... that it "simply isn't possible".... so you clearly have more information on the subject than I do. I'll leave the opinions to the experts on this one.
