Yes, this is in WoW General.

It is related to exploiting, but I choose to not make a useless chat post in the exploit sub-forum and get an infraction for it.

So today, since the servers been up I've been getting under the world and flying places. Notably out of being bored. So I came under Blackrock Mountain and hit this area under the mountain that instanteously disconnects me. Shrugging it off I start to get concerned after attempting to get into the uninstanced BRD portion. After a few minutes I give up and state that I don't want to get banned.

Just a few minutes I get under the world in IF, and as I make my way to Old Ironforge I run into another disconnection wall, which I found underneatth the bank/throne room. Givng up again I post here asking a simple question

Has anyone ran into something like this before, or is this a bit.. new?

I ran into it before under Mount Hyjal in the flaming castle place... its just certain areas happen to do it, but not sure why

maybe to prevent people with no clip hack (or whatever its called) from getting wherever they want

i got D/ced under the dam in uldum.

It could be, but I've ran into these disconnection walls in places where I would not expect people to no clip hack to. BRM makes no sense as well as the under the Firelands entrance.

I've ran into one under Org too. Really does not make sense.

Under Org right above the RFC portal. Was thinking it could have something to do with RFC being there.

Well in my personal experience I have come across numerous places like this usually happens in water "DC water" and it is not to stop Hackers/No-Clip it has been like that forever. Think it started around patch 4.0.1. I have no idea why it DC's you but it does so I just go along with it.

On topic : yeah i experienced the same thing under blackrock mountain but i'm not a huge fan of going under the land so i don't know if this happens a lot.

Same as with Omgwtfowned, in my experience this seems to happen in water or lava, and also the green goo/ water (undercity waterways), but not always.

To me, it seems to happen when one hits the water while the water also appears very suddenly on the screen - for example jumping out of Naxx and landing in the green goo water, which very suddenly appeared on my screen, caused an instant d/c, as did attempting to fly under Ironforge and into Old Ironforge (in this case it was lava).

These are the only two occasions where I've actually needed a GM to port me out of the area due to the instant d/c on log in, though one-time d/c's due to the same thing have also happened elsewhere.
