Character account transfer question

Alright, I'm starting to think it's impossible to do what I want to do, but you guys are smarter than me so maybe you'll know.

I quit right before the onyxian whelpling was given to characters who logged in during the anniversary. Unfortunate, because I think the pet is adorable and I'm kind of a rabid pet collector. My question is: can I buy a character that has the BoA onyxian whelpling item on it, and somehow transfer the character so it's on my main account?

Problems ofc are:
1. The two b-net accounts wouldn't have the same last name.
2. The bought character would be on an account already merged with a b-net account (since it's impossible to create unmerged wow accounts..I think)

Would the character have to be on an unmerged account so I could merge it with my b-net account and then do a character transfer between accounts? I'm thinking that's probably the only way, and I'm sure it would be very difficult to find an unmerged account..

Other than that, is there any way to get around the "same last name on both accounts" transfer restriction?

call blizz and tell them you got married, and request a change of your last name... wait a few days then do the transfer

Don't you have to fax them proof that your name changed?
