Hey Guys,
I have been reading this forum for a while for various things. I searched all over but could not find the answer for this.
I bought my WoW account about a year ago for my own use to play.
As soon as I got it I merged it with a battle.net account with my own name and contact info (obviously different the info that was already on account). I have had no problems with with account ever from this.
My rogue is now one of the top on my server so I did not want to get hacked because I was not the OO of the account.
Well I got to thinking I should get an authenticator just in case. However now I think by adding an authenticator I may have the same issue down the line.
The reason I wanted to add the authenticator is because if I ever did get hacked I would be hard pressed talking to Blizzard because of the name discrepancy. Then I got to thinking after browsing the WoW forums what if the authenticator failed or I lost it somehow. I would still have to call Blizzard to try and get the authenticator removed from the account.
So now that you have the background of my thinking here is my question. If I contact Blizzard will they think that I am the OO of the account because it is my info on battle.net and after the merge it wiped out the other owners info.
I don't know if this is the case because I know when hackers were merging accounts to their battle.net before the merge was mandatory Blizzard could still access the OO info even if the name was changed on battle.net.
Is this no longer the case because now all accounts need to be merged now?
Has anyone here ever tried to talk to Blizzard if your name is on battle.net but you were not the OO of the account?
Thanks for all the help.
