Bought an account that's bnet merged

Just recently bought an account but found out that it was merged with a bnet account. I want to transfer the toons on this account to my own account. However, my account has also been merged with a bnet account recently and I cannot make the transfer because the names do not match. I was thinking about calling customer service and telling them that the account (the one I bought) was compromised and that I never requested to merge my account. Has anyone tried this out? And if anyone has successfully unmerged their account, is there a better way to trick the system?

I have had many accounts unmerged from my b-net account, but haven't unmerged one myself.

The best way, I believe, is to call them and tell them just what you said.

Be aware that you need the correct first and last name and full info.

Also, if you bought a b-net merged account, you probably don't have all the info.

Another alternative (if you think you will be able to keep the account) is to simply change the email to yours and keep two seperate b-nets.

Depends on your situation and whatnot, but I believe the only way to unmerge is to call with full info.

The seller said they would give me the full account info in a week. Would it matter if the bnet merge was done a long time ago? When I got the account it was inactive.

Thats a shady purchase IMO. If you have the sqa, try to at least change the email to yours.

If not, then I guess you'll just have to wait and see if he's legit.

It doesn't matter when the merge was done.

Hope it works out for you!

Which part is shady? The inactive part or that they won't give me the info for a week? They told they would with hold the full account information for a week prior to purchase. I'm guessing this is thier way of preventing a chargeback?

I would think the part where he doesn't give you the full info. He will probably get his account back since he still has all the info.

He could very easily get it back. I presume both parts are shady but protective at the same time.

I guess trust him and hope for the best.

Yes I presume. Wait to see if he's legit. Does he have rep on the site that you traded on?

Scamming issue aside. What kind of questions are they going to ask me if I call? I know they'll ask for full name, Secret Q&A, but will they ask me about recent account activity or how I was able to retrieve my account?

What do you mean how you got your account? Say you were trying to merge a different account that you own, but accidentally merged this one.

I was thinkg about telling them that my account was hacked and the hacker merged my account. Will they ask me how I got my account back from the hacker?

They'll wonder why the account and bnet have the same last name and how you got it back, yes.

So I should tell them that I accidently merged them? Are you sure blizzard will take that as a valid excuse to unmerge?
