    Runtime Error

Well I keep getting a runtime error when I try to install the Wotlk beta. The error says "Runtime Error This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in a unusual way. Well I contacted Blizzard Tech support and every fix they told me to try didn't work. So I wanted to see what the people of MMowned thought. Just for some extra info I have tried re downloading it, trying to run as admin, tried in safe mode with networking, tried clearing out the temp folder, running a fix with normal wow, turning off all firewalls and trying, I tried turning off all other task to make sure nothing interfered, made sure my hard drive was clear of viruses and all(which I already knew it was but still), and also I'm running on Windows Vista 32bit. Also there is other things I may have tried but these are all the ones I remember doing.

Have you got windows net framework installed? (Not so sure about the name)

I think this kind of errors are related to not having that.

First you should check if there are any updates for windows, and it is important that you have Service Pack 2 installed as it might repair the runtime library. Also make sure you run everything as administrator to ensure you have full rights.

Secondly i would recommend you delete everything related to WoW (also normal WoW, and remember to back up addons/custom stuff).

Then you should do a defrag in case you have some damaged runtime libraries.

Last you should try to install everything from the beginning (and be sure that your WoW and WOTLK match, US for US and EU for EU...).

Ohh and when removing WoW try open Run (startmenu) and type %AppData% and check if there is anything related to WoW and then delete the folder. I know this fixed the exact same problem for a friend of mine but that was with a application, not sure WoW has anything in the AppData folder.

If all that fails then you should try to look if it says anything in the Event Viewer (Control Panel -> classic view -> Administration -> Event Viewer)

PS. forgot to say, when you try all these steps make sure you terminate all unnessecary programs (also antivirus etc.)
