Hey MMOwned, I need your help
When I try to type any ASCII letter, it doesn't show up properly in WoW

hold ALT GR (on windows) when you type a letter, only does basic ones e.g. íóéáúor you can just copy paste them in,
Love isn't an emotion or an instinct - it is an Art
Hey uhm, I know how to write them, but the letters appear as question marks for me in WoW.
How other people write them?
And when I want to create a new char with an ASCII letter, the letter appears as a question mark.

Do you play on retail or private server?
Retail ofc, on private ones sometimes too

you can get various accents by holding down alt and typing a 3 digit number on your numeric keypad in any dialog box (ie chat, add friend etc), I can't give examples here cos I'm at work on a mac, but off the top of my head alt and 160 upwards will give various letters and accents, starting with á
I kinda want to know why others can write them and why when I write them they show up as question marks. I know I can write them by pressing alt and some numbers on numpad
And to add, I kinda want to know how the hell to make it work in char creation screen?
I didn't know about the numpad thing when I rolled my alts, and ended up just copy and pasting from an explorer window to initially get the names.
I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but are you using the standard bliz fonts in your UI? I'm only guessing here, not even sure those fonts can be changed. If you haven't tried already it may be worth typing a message to a guildy using these chars and seeing if it displays ok their end which would point to a local font problem?
Well, all I did to my WoW was delete cache, wtf, interface folders, redownload add-ons, configure everything like it was and play in window mode. Nothing else
GM said that I should try running repair tool, hell, gonna try that
Or wait, could it be so that, european WoW uses UK language and my keyboard setting is US? Could that be the problem?
okies, well it sounds like it's nothing you've done, hopefully it's simply a font corruption problem and the repair tool will fix things for you.
Possibly, altho where the UK would need accents for european users, I'm also thinking the US would need accents for Hispanic users.
Repair tool didn't fix it, I did check files only tho
Or must I do "Reset and check files" ?

Ded, unfortunately, I doubt any of this will help your problem.
Tell me, are other people able to see your high ASCII characters in games other than WoW? Test it.

Check your computer has the language packs for characters other than basic English installed. That could fix it.
