Pink boxes under Shadowmoon Valley

While flying under Shadowmoon Valley I found several of these interesting pink boxes, not far from underneath the Black Temple instance entrance.
And sorry if this is a repost, I did a search and found nothing.

Quick way to get under Shadowmoon Valley is by going here (Approximate coordinates are : 72.35 , 39.23) , hover on your flying mount and blink through the mountain face. (Be careful as if your too close to the wall you will not land on the ground and instead fall to your death.)

These are placeholders for things like invisible walls.

Fun fact: if you go under the gates in a BG, you will see this same kind of things, these are invisible walls! You can see the same thing in the End Time instance in the beginning!

Yup, what LuckLuka said. They have been there since the release of Burning Crusade. They are also in BG's, as well as various other places around the world where Blizzard does not want you to get to. When I used to have a private server, this is actually a game object that you can spawn to block players from entering certain places, etc. Nowadays, Blizzard has learned some new techniques when it comes to invisible walls, and these aren't as common as they were back in the Vanilla and BC days of WoW. The newer invisible walls are not game objects, and completely invisible, meaning they are actually built into the map itself (no placeholders like LuckLuka said.) Blizzard probably feels that it is unneeded to revisit these places to block off areas, because they still do a pretty darn good job of blocking this area off (unless they for some reason release BT again in later expansions, which is unlikely.) +rep for discovering it yourself though!

Ah thanks for the explanation. Was weird of me to think that Blizzard had made a graphics error in the game, makes more sense that it's a placeholder.

I like the area under non-instanced Zul'Aman. Highest concentration of them in one spot, afaik. Love the candy cane rods.
