I thought this serie was over after northrend and i totally forgot about bg portals.

Gratz for always finding new stuff to explore rather than finding new ways !
And if someday i need to get underground, i know who to ask for help xD

Just to let you guys all know, that following the currently-in-progress Part 6 of the Beyond the Portals Expedition (titled Part 6: Pandaria, of course), I will be going back and redoing just about the ENTIRE series.

This is because really, while I may have shown all these areas before, the vast majority of them are now inaccessible with the methods and by the places I showed, as under-world flying has been all but fixed.

So, I will be going back and redoing all the Parts, every portal that has changed in how it's accessed, and with the new method I'm planning to use, hopefully some that weren't featured in the original series, like the Tempest Keep instances.

So stay tuned for Part 6: Pandaria, and for the new super-duper Beyond the Portals: Revisited!

Coming soon to an Ownedcore near you...

Edit 1/3/2014: No I won't. BtP is gonna be staying as it is, as the main purpose of the project after all is not as a tutorial, but to show what the areas are like - so no need to redo the whole thing! Sorry, if you like, had gotten your hopes up or anything.

This is a really interesting series, didn't even know it existed Mainly because I was inactive during 2011.. Looking forward to the pandaria version of it.
I'm 90% sure there is nothing behind the portals of the Tempest keep instances

Glad you've found it now! In my opinion, these 'beyond the portal' places are some of the coolest world-exploration areas in WoW - the area behind the Uldaman 'back' portal is one of my all-time favourite places in the game. Now you know about the series, I'd encourage you to check out the ones you think are cool - some of them really are special
I managed to get behind them with the Warlock EoK trick, however the ground wasn't solid and thus I promptly fell to my death. Not ideal of course.

There is a very small amount of corridor behind the invisible walls for the instance portals, which makes a 90 degree turn after a little bit and then ends, so no, there isn't nothing behind the portals, but there is very little. I'm a completionist though - I want to get behind them to finish the 'set'

Ok guys, after a very, very long absence from this project, I proudly present The Beyond the Portals Expedition, Part 6: Pandaria! *trumpet fanfare and possibly some fireworks*

So yeah. It's the Pandaria portals this time. Not much else to say really, other than...enjoy! *stray firework from first fanfare goes off*

Ok, vague attempts at humour aside, Pandaria is pretty nice for portals, considering the relatively small number of beyond-the-portal areas - only 6 out of the 9 instances (so far). But yeah, some nice areas in there, so hopefully you'll enjoy them half as much as I did. You can feel free to enjoy them more than half as much, but try not to get carried away.

StrangleTusk, you have done an outstanding job with this, as always.

Your method for the Palace, simply going over the portal, was brilliant. For the Gate of the Setting Sun I had been using the same method you used here on Terrace of Endless Spring (through the portal and then a mushroom chair)... however they just added a non-heroic version of Gate, so that will no longer work for me. Your method shown here with the Well and Glider will come in quite handy! I did miss your usual humorous commentary... but with the music you chose the verbal silence was actually quite fitting and granted an additional sense of awe to the video. The music was perfect.

I always love your work! Of course, "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Strangletusk again."... but you've got the max I can give you coming your way for this latest edition of your series. Such an ambitious project could only be taken on by a master such as yourself. In the DJing world, we refer to the ones we like to listen to ourselves as a "DJ's DJ". You are truly an explorer's explorer!
