They are simply masks for events, an event that will certainly happen before the next expansion.

This seems to be the logic of speculators:
"There are only Halloween masks of playable races, blizzard is adding masks for goblins and Worgen, ergo, Goblin and Worgen will be playable races."

That statement assumes that the way Halloween masks are currently handled is how they will always be handled, and makes an assumption based on that assumption.

It is essentially the same as:
"I can fit into my suit, my suit can fit into my briefcase, therefore I must be able to fit into my briefcase"

To me, these masks prove nothing, other than that people are very willing to give to speculation and hysteria.

I see no reason why worgs would come in maelstrom expansion, and i see no way goblins could be playable class. Goblins are neutral for both alliance and Horde.

Not all goblins are a part of Steamwheel Cartel, nor neutral. Aren't the Goblins that operate the Zeppelin at Org hostile toward alliance?

Even if not, it's not like it'd be the first time they twisted the lore...

But I agree, this is purely speculation.

I don't think worgs will become a playable race.
Both sides, alliance and horde just kill them questing...

Right now i'm on a line right now...I am not sure what side to choose. Playable race or not. There's alot of evidence that people have posted to convince me they will but also enough to say they won't. I just hope worgen becomes a race. <3

they added extra animations for the worg that no other creature has, Like looting. only the textures of playable races have the looting animation. ofcourse goblin alreayd had them but you knew that from transformation pirate rod from halloween

Ok cool halloween masks. What do you usually think about when you hear the word "halloween"? I think about little kids with goblin masks and werewolf outfits. It makes sense to add goblin/werewolf masks to make it more "Halloweeny" (if that's a word :X).

Perhaps you haven't noticed but there were some other masks found on the ptr files, e.g. nagas, ogres and so on.

And I bet if they put a hockey mask into the game people would be like: "ZOMG! HOCKEY MASK! WE CAN PLAY AS SERIAL KILLERS WITH CHAINSAWS NEXT EXPANSION!"
