Well outlands wasnt really a big part of wow lore so i dont think they even had figured out themselves what all of those places will be and how do they look so i think if they released deadlands, it would have just been some random "dead"area.
But im wrong on my theory if deadlands was some place in lore but i highly doubt it cus the outlands itself was a small part of wow lore.

Pictures don't work for me![]()
What makes you think the term "Malestrom" refers to an expansion? They wouldn't put something like that on a server that could be accessed publicly.
People jump to conclusions too easily.
Damn...Why the Maelstrom? A rift that is destroying the world is NOT more important than going to the ED (Emerald Dream...not Erectile Dysfunction) imo. Besides, they've already finished working on some of the dream, so why not just finish it first?
picture doesnt work
please upload to filebeam/tinypic
Yeah picture doesn't work, please re-upload <3
The picture had a wow realm list. Looked like an US one cus it had some Oceanic and other pages, but it was on some Test Realm page which had only 1 realm called Maelstrom test realm.

Ah, it was that picture.. Seen that b4, but isn't it a chance it's just a private server where the only server is names Maelstorm?
Outland wasnt a big part of WoW Lore? LOL, are you kidding??
Where do you think the Orcs homeland was? Draenor (which was outland before it got destroyed). I mean, without Draenor/Outland we dont even have ANY wow lore. Now I feel pretty effing nerdy knowing almost 100% of the current wow lore, but it makes the game more fun for me
But on the OP's subject: I can almost guarantee that Blizz will follow that Set-List that someone posted that shows the Maelstrom being the next major focus of the next expansion, and here's why:
The Maelstrom is home to the Naga. Their leader is Queen Azshara, who was the original leader of the Night Elves before the Great Sundering of Kalimdor. She and all her Highborne Elves were sucked into the Maelstrom (Formally the Well of Eternity), and then at the will of the old gods, they made a pact with Queen Azshara to live forever and in turn transformed them all into Naga.
There are many islands that surround the Maelstrom, including the Broken Isles, where Sargeras's Tomb lies. And since these islands are still there, that means that the Maelstrom is NOT actually sucking anything in.
So here is the next expansion for my prediction:
- Maelstrom Set
Gilneas - Level 78 to 80
This is the peninsula that sticks out from Silverpine Forest into Menethil Harbor. You can venture as far as The Great Greymane Wall, which is guarded by dwarves. Inside lies the city of Gilneas, formally lead by Gilneas Greymane, it's possible that they are locked inside, or got taken over by Worgen.
Grim Batol - Level 78 to 80
This old dwarven city is located in Wetlands, and is currently guarded ingame by many Red Dragonflight Elites. According to the book Night of the Dragons, Deathwing (Neltharion) is currently residing DEEP underneath Grim Batol, and has many Netherwing Dragon Eggs at his disposal. The Red Dragonflight patrol it because of what has happened there in past wars, but do not know what lurks beneath. Pretty low level set IMO for such a big boss area, but it can change.
Kul Tiras - Level 79 to 82
This is an island city once ruled by the great Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, who is father too Lady Jaina Proudmoore. The city's only major threat is from Murlocs and Naga, but otherwise they remained mostly safe from the Scourge. The island is located West of Dun Morogh, not to far off shore. Currently the location of Daelin is unknown, but Kul Tiras is currently under the leadership of his son Tandred Proudmoore.
Kezan - Level 81 to 86
Kezan is another island located almost directly south of the Maelstrom, fairly even in distance between Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdom. This is the home of the Goblins! More than likely a route from Booty Bay to Kezan will be implemented. Also, underneath Kezan is the fabled Undemine!
Tel Abim - Level 83 to 85
There isnt much known about this island except that it is viewable on the map and is the small circular island located southwest of the Maelstrom. The only link to this island are the famed Tel Abin Bananas that you can eat ingame.
Zandalar - Level 84 to 87
This is the homeland of the Trolls, and a neutral territory for all trolls. When the original Well of Eternity exploded, the trolls used what magic they could to shield their homeland from getting destroyed, and now their home has become and island. It is located not far from the Maestrom as a large island to the south of it.
Plunder Isle - Level 86 to 88
This is the home of the Bloodsail Buccaneers, as well as the original home of murlocs and basilisks. It is located east of Kezan and southeast of Zandalar, and it's closest main port is Booty Bay. There are also Blackwater Raiders that inhabit the island, but are more friendly then Bloodsail Buccaneers.
The Broken Isles - Level 87 to 90
The Broken Isles are a very lore-rich location for WOW. This set of islands was where the Tomb of Sargeras is buried, and the island was buried deep underwater for a very long time. But after the fist war erupted, a Powerful Orc Warlock named Gul'dan lusted for the power that the Eye of Sargeras would bring him, and took a large portion of the Orcish Horde, and set out to where the islands used to be. He then raised the islands to the surface, went ino the tomb, and was killed by the demons that guarded it. Later on, Illidan Stormrage had traveled to these islands to retrieve the Eye of Sargeras using the Skull of Gul'dan. My speculation is that the island is now inhabited by Naga and possibly demons as well.
The Maelstrom - Level 89 to 90
The Maelstrom itself is a large rift that was leftover when the original Well of Eternity exploded causing the Sundering of Kalimdor into the large landmasses we know now. Underneath the Maelstrom is the home of the Naga and home of the Makrura. This is where Queen Azshara currently resides as the leader of the Naga (Former Night Elf Highborne). My speculation is that the Maelstrom Rift still holds strong as a portal to Sargeras' homeland of the burning legion. And if this is true, then the Maelstrom could be trying to pull the Broken Isle's into itself so that Sargeras can retrieve the Avatar of himself that was defeated and buried there, making him much stronger.
Possible Raid Bosss:
Deathwing (Neltharion)
Queen Azshara
Random Demon Bosses
Old God (Mainly because Azshara made a pact with the old gods to save herself and her highborne, thus becoming Naga.)
Sorry for the long winded explanations, but it's a pretty accurate prediction on my partHope you enjoyed!
nice spazit was a good read
- Plane Set
Pandaria - 1 to 10 /
Hiji - 10 to 20
Wolfenhold - 1 to 10 /
Xorothian Plains - 10 to 20
So i assume that is hinting at 2 new races?
Sounds interesting..

So ... What does it mean? Well, Wrath of the Lich King was trademarked a few weeks before the Blizzcon, we're not going to jump to conclusions here but WoWWiki will most likely give you a few things to think about on their Great Sundering article.
The Great Sundering, also known as simply the Sundering or the Cataclysm was a world event which reshaped Azeroth approximately 10,000 years ago at the end of the War of the Ancients. This event was triggered due to the Well of Eternity being destroyed.
Prior to the Sundering, there was only one continent on Azeroth, referred to as Kalimdor. In the catastrophic explosion, eighty percent of the land mass was destroyed leaving behind the major continents and scattered islands that are known today: Northrend, Kezan, the Eastern Kingdoms, and the remnant still referred to as Kalimdor.
The site of the Well of Eternity became a swirling vortex of power known as the Maelstrom.
A few days ago, one of our user also spotted a test server named "Maelstrom 3 Test" in the US server list (it only showed up for a few seconds, see This post). If the expansion is indeed The Maelstrom/Cataclysm, we can expect to see a few things here:
Sargeras and/or Deathwing
Azshara
Goblins!"
