I looked and didn't see any threads about this so please don't flame if its a repost, just tired of being a leecher. So I was messing around the other day and noticed that as a miner I can turn primal fire into motes of fire (its under smelting). Well I looked in the AH and a primal fire sells for 25g, 10 motes sell for 32g. That equals 7g that's basicly free. Sure its not much but for quick easy money you can't beat it. Made 70g in 1 hour just selling primals I turned into motes. Happy Hunting

Except that every server is different, my server 10 motes are cheaper then 1 primal

Hehe, nice. If the motes are selling for more than the primals on your server for some odd reason why not buy the primals off AH turn them into 10 motes and sell

I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a miner to convert primals to motes and motes to primals. If you look at the mote, it says: Turns Ten motes of X into 1 primal X.

Motes go for more than primals on my server

This makes sense to me, kinda - most people are needing primals (few recipes use motes). If I see a [Primal Fire] for 20g and 10 stacks of 1x[Mote of Fire] for 2g50c each, I'd buy the primal, since it's cheaper at the end.

However, it turns out I already had 6 motes of fire in my bags from farming or dailies, so buying 4x motes would now be cheaper for me. In a more extreme case, I have 9 motes of fire, and there is one mote of fire on sale for 5g. I'll pay the 5g instead of 20 to get my primal (assuming I'm in a hurry and need it).

Another case - Primal Air costs 20g. Someone has listed 8x[Mote of Air] for 10g. I have listed on the AH, 2x[Mote of Air] for 6g. Someone interested in a Primal Air will buy the 10g motes and my 6g motes, which still comes out cheaper.

For those reasons, I usually put up single stacks of motes on the auction house instead of whole primals.

Anyone can turn 10 motes into a primal.

However, to turn a primal back into 10 motes, a miner must use "Earth Shatter" or "Fire Sunder" to turn Earths and Fires back.
