8000 now is very big. It works now or not?

If you are in a party of 5 and the other 4 has one in the bag; you will get all of the lilypads yourself. This might explain why OP got so many more than others?

The lilypads are personal loot, like grey items and so. Meaning they're just yours, unless you check the loot on a corpse, and tab out of the loot. Then everyone can loot them.
What OP had was probably a group of people who already had the item without knowing, who checked loot and just left it there, so he could loot them.

They can also drop from Sele'na, in Valley of Four Winds. He seems to have a higher drop-chance, but he's on an hour long respawn though.

Got 1 lilipad per 10-15 minutes while farming frogs with a party of frog farmers. If you are farming them for charm, timeless gear its usefull info. Otherwise i would not recommend you guys to go there for farming liipads. Its too crowded thanks to charm upgrades.

Gave this a shot yes today, but they only dropped like every 5th min or so, do you farm them single or with a grp of 5 ?

RNG on drops, either you'll get or not. Depends on how fast you can kill/aoe as well

Never farmed them so far but each time i try i die from something ( i guess from stacks ). is there a way to prevent that and solo them?

Both are pretty good at handling aggro.(though Korvern's damage sucks for a raid boss).

They should help a lot with this. There's a couple of other quest pets such as "Dog" the sea lion from the
dread wastes, that aren't so hot as the two I just linked to for various reasons, but might be useful, need
to experiment with this...
