This does NOT work. This item-linking method was completely re-designed years ago and is no longer relevant. Any instances of people saying it worked are most likely lying, or won by the RNG gods.

To the people saying "But I saw someone in trade advertising Ashes of Alar within 3 weeks guaranteed[for like $300 or something]" so they must be using some method like this. Let me just say that that is almost assuredly a SCAM to get some really big suckers cash. Everyday in trade is people selling mounts for cash and for gold and everyday they say "oh just give me half now and I'll turn in this code to get the item on this server" and people fall for it and get nothing.

loot is generated when creature is killed, if things are linkable, then items already been revealed from Blizzard's database into cache db, from players who already have them, while blizzard clearing their lootable cache on patch days and maintance
