Warlock Immolate bug

Posted this earlier on a semi more official forum, so use it while you can!

1. Spec destro

2. Find any boss you can use havoc on (I'll use Megaera as an example)

3. Kill order is frost, fire arcane leaving venom up the entirety for havocing.

4. Cast havoc on the target you want taking more damage, then cast immolate and 2 fel flames on the venomous head for your 3 charges.

5. The havocd target will not only have the immolate dot but also an unseen dot ticking for 2x the damage of a normal immolate resulting in some heavy number inflating (The unseen dot also procs ember generation like a normal immolate in regards to crits and general ticking)

6. Enjoy!

Hard to notice the damage. Its there but its not much. Like 14k every 3 sec.

ilvl? Are you using havoc to fel flame as well? It buffs the ghosted dot further. The ember generation it causes makes it quite gamebreaking where I was able to parse 202k on a fight where wol rank 1 is at 212k as destro with aff reforges!

Chaos bolt- Damage done- 18684167 34.3 %
Immolate- Damage done- 15678502 28.8 %

That was with gosac too, it's definitely more than it seems

last edit from looking at the specific immolate numbers- On the arcane head (Initial buffs from frost and fire had faded by now) - Tick crits- 95701
On the venom head, which was not recieveing the ghost dot- Tick crits (with raid buffs since it was up initally)- Tick crits- 51627

This bug make your immolate do x3 dmg, the normal tick stay the same, and the second tick hit x2dmg of the first, basically it triple your immolate dmg and double your burning embers generation.

This can be pretty op considering how many bosses have multiple targets to hit. The question is, is it worth using this trick over a havoc+ CB

So tested this on a couple dummies. I havoc the raider dummy and cast Immolate on the lv 85 dummy and pop the 2 Fel flames and nothing more, no pet or buffs.
Raider dummy- 305.2k 60.1%
Training Dummy- 202.4k 39.9%

CB hits both for 241.5k with no buffs

So looks like its slightly better damage wise as well as going to generate more embers. Should still use CB with DS up though.

Bzzt. Havoc's cd allows it so that the 2 ff keep the immo the entirety until havoc is back up. Even with DS, unless you happen to have wushoolays > 6 with either breath/uvls/proff proccd, the dps gain is in favor of keeping the bugged immolate going, even with gosac.

i tested it on the dummy
i used regular immolate on both my focus and target

Yes it is very worth it. The extra ember generation alone is worth it, especially if its applied while Dark Soul is up.

Also worth noting is that you can keep the double stacked Immolate dot up indefinitely using Fel Flame to extend. Its a bit of a mana hog to do so however.
