Resistances are still fully functional

Blizzard intended to remove resistance from the game with MoP. They removed the enchants, the buffs, most gear, as well as spell penetration. It was removed from the character pane, so we are supposed to think it's gone. But it is still fully functioning behind the scenes. If you put the +5 all resist, +10 Shadow Resist, +15 Nature/Fire Resist on BOA cloaks, don't overwrite it. These are grandfathered enchants! Both binary and partial resists can occur. In leveling BGs these enchants are very OP against casters

there was a twitter post from GC stating resistance is still in the game, never intended to be removed from the game.

Q. Thought Resistance was removed, still seeing & getting partial and full resists. Is it here to stay?
A. Res is gone as a stat on gear and buff. It still exists behind the scenes. Where are you seeing partials?

They didn't really intend for it to still be available, thus removing it from the enchanting profession, but not wiping it from all existing gear and clearing the grandfathered enchants.
