Faction specific mounts using sor merge.

So today I discovered something after I merged a sor account into my own.
I had some faction specific mounts on my ally characters like the chopper and the travelers tundra mammoth but refused to by them on my horde characters. I did the sor on the account and when i logged in it got my mounts even tho it was a different account under my battle.net. I knew that would happen However I did not know that when i used the free faction change on it that after the faction change I would also get the horde ones as well. This char did not own those mounts and afterward on my main account i had the horde versions as well. I know that to get those you are supposed to faction change the specific character. However doing it this way worked I believe because it was on a separate account.

So heres exactly what i did.

SOR the character and did the server change.
DO NOT DO THE FACTION CHANGE IMMEDIATELY
login to get the same faction mounts. (ally for example)
then do the free faction change. (to horde for example)
login and get your new free mounts. (as your new horde)
login to your old characters to the SOR chars new faction to get the new faction specific mounts. (your old horde characters different account under same bnet.)

From reading what you wrote, I got from it that you did not know that the BoA mounts were shared between factions as long as they were under the same B.Net acc? Mount include all the vendor mounts, but not the specific horde mounts for exmaple the Lion and the scorpion, those don't work.

They all worked. The chopper isnt supposed to change over except with the character that owns it as well as the rest of them. And yes the lion and scorpion works as well this way.

The chopper actually is, because I logged onto my level 48 rogue and she had it trained, when she was the only horde I had =P. But interesting with how an Alliance can ride a scorpion? Screenshot please?

faction specific mounts were not supposed to change into their opposite. there was a blue post about them not transferring over. unless they have changed all of this. there were numerous posts in the wow forums about people not having their choppers because they become a different mount. they actually have different spell ids. thats what im inquiring at.

This sounds normal to be honest. I've merged accounts and then gotten mounts on my main account of a different faction. Unless you're trying to say that your horde can ride an elekk, or your gnome a wind rider, I don't think there is any exploit here - you're just getting a like-for-like mount as intended.

Does the Lion change if you mail it to an Ally char?

The Lion is for only Ally.. If you mail it to horde, it becomes a scorpion, been like this since it was introduced as a BoA mount in Patch 4.0.3
