RAOV was keeping this a secret...
I would like to add my own personal point of view on this. This is not meant as a flame post, but rather I put this out there simply to counter the point of view expressed above by MoD.
You (MoD) say that by publicly exposing exploits, you are giving Blizzard a reason to fix things. This is absolutely true. Ron's Target Test was fixed shortly after it was publicly posted here. This "trade window" exploit was partially fixed shortly after it was publicly posted here. Why does this bother you? Are the major WoW exploits supposed to be kept in small circles, to be used only by the elite few that fully understand their potential? I didn't get that memo...
When programmers close a door, they typically open a window. We are in like our 7th year of WoW…the golden age is over. If all of the super-secret, game-changing exploits are finally being exposed and fixed, and this ruins your personal fun, perhaps it is time for you to try a new game, or to get back to the drawing board...
I personally do not think in this way. I like to release exploits to the public, shortly after I find them. I like to shout them from the rooftops, especially "in big letters on Blizzard's #1 NerfThisShitCauseImDumb forum boards", as you called it. We have a group of like-minded individuals here on this forum, that all found their way here because they like to tweak this game in one way or another. The point of posting an exploit here to our community is so that the entire community can play with it until Blizzard fixes it.
Could this severely reduce the shelf-life of the exploit? Even worse, could this mean that exploits are fixed even before their entire potential is even discovered? Yes… yes it could! So why then would anyone want to find a major exploit and then sit on it, or keep it within a small circle? The answer, my friend, is selfishness and ego…the desire to personally get all you can out of something before the others ruin the fun. How strange it is that you call out the community that shares information for having the ego... when it is your own ego that drives your words.
This is one of the reasons I have personally stopped calling for things to be "moved to elite!".... because that attitude in itself is elitist. I personally would rather that we all share in the excitement.... and publicly say, "Hey Blizzard, here is a new bug for you to fix! Good luck with this one, because we'll just be back tomorrow with the next one." The fact that you even mention Rep Points and YouTube subscribers as the ultimate goal of the users here just shows that you don’t fully understand community.
As Kur stated above, this is only a video game. At the end of the day, the community that has been built here will stick together in some form or another, even beyond the game itself.
I am looking forward to sharing all that I find with this community, when I find it…even if that means I have “half the brain of a duck”…
~ Sincerely yours, The Wizard Trokair
I'm not going to quote everything that Wizard Trokair posted, but I just would like to state that I couldn't agree more with him. My wish though would be that exploits like this keep being released to the public, but the public also needs to learn how to use, and not abuse them. We are a community and I totally agree with "stepping down", being humble and without this elitist spirit that many have. However, the community itself needs to learn how to use these exploits and not be like "OMG Just saw a HAX on OwnedCore! IM GOD NOW! IMA BE THE RICHEST IN WOW AND SOLO EVERYTHING I CAN". The same way people, humbly, release exploits to the public, the public also needs to be humble when using them. This would be the perfect balance in my opinion
And, again related to the exploit itself: I still couldn't make it work. Not even once. And yes, I tried a lot of times in many different ways. So, yeah...
*ahem*
If you want to by stuff from vendors, do it BEFORE doing the TWE.
What i did:
-bought a argent tournament mount
-did the TWE
-did the D/C stuff to enable dupe
-learned the mount
-canceled TWE (logout for a certain time)
-selled the mount to get my seals refunded (you have 2h to refund any item, and the timer doesn't decrease while logged out)
rinsed and reapeted, voilà, got five 100 seals mounts with only 100 seals, you're welcome. This would also work with Darkmoon mounts and pet I assume (so with 180 tickets you could get every mount and pet of the faire)

@MoD From Snyth of RAoV
We were keeping this private and then one of our old members that knew about the bug released it. We kept it on the down low for awhile a good 2-3 months before it was ever released after it's first initial find. Idk if you understand the precautions that we tried to take so it wouldn't be released. The fact is that we can't stop other people's actions so if anyone is going to take blame for this blame, it would be Gatsby(Former member of RAoV) or Aegean(On Ownedcore) for giving Leniox the exploit to release.
It may be how you see it, but I see it differently... However let us keep the arguement outside of this thread since there is no reason to get it sidetracked

This isn't working for me anymore on US realm.
As said by Boubouille on MMO-C front page, 4.3.2 is delayed due to a "game-breaking bug" which to me points to this very exploit. So expect a complete fix by then.
Yea not working for me two on us...
works just fine for me. duped all mounts i could think of. now trying to kill 1st boss of DS in 25 heroic, i think my toon is a bit under geared![]()
Isn't that the point here?
To share exploits...
@ MoD
Lol well for starters I would like to know where ducks got such a bad rap, must be a lost in translation thing.
Also, I can respect your opinion, even if I disagree with basically everything, so please respect mine and attempt to be civil with your reply if you feel one is necessary. Though I have to admit this is pretty much all I have to say on the matter.
We release exploits/explorations for the community. To show them things they may not already be aware of in the hopes it will bring them joy while playing WoW. We don’t want to ruin WoW, it’s a great game. Which, unless I’m mistaken here, is why we all play it on some level. Sure a lot of our personal fun comes from exploiting the game into pieces sometimes, but that’s just how we like to play. Would also like to agree with Kurios at this point and remind anyone that has forgotten, this is just a game.
I’m sorry but your list of accomplishments seems kind of weak considering. There has been a multitude of methods publicly posted to… become invisible, exploit stat stacking buffs, immunity to the environment, ability to travel anywhere, summon infinite pets, dc players, crash any server, bug your toon to the point of requiring gm assistance, go into offline mode, even god modes. In fact, and I say this despite our less than savory relationship at the moment, Raov pretty much does this every patch of every expansion they play. I mean really the only unique contribution on that list is duping. But even that has been around since the beginning of time, and will no doubt be available in the future.
Don’t really think anyone claimed anything about this being Cata specific either, we just labeled it as 4.3 because, well, this is patch 4.3 lol.
@ TheWizardTrokair Thank you.
@ Snyth I definitely agree with Snyth. Raov took so much precaution with this bug they even kept it from themselves! Well Shorty kept it from us, and I ironically told the rest of Raov how to dupe. Then within a month they were caught, fast forward some more time and the latest ptr patch showed it being fixed, prior to us releasing our vids, which is what prompted me to blow the dust off this so the community could have some fun with it before it was gone forever. As I have stated I actually had done no testing on this exploit until very recently, a week or two now maybe, so I agree I have no idea every possibility of it, but I do know it won’t matter once the patch hits so I’m putting out everything I can so everyone can enjoy it as much as possible while it’s here.

Have any mages, priests, or rogues been able to solo bosses in DS using this exploit yet?
