Easy Valor/ Gold Exploit LFR (Patch 4.3)

Hey guys, I discovered an exploit in LFR. If you join a raid (Easiest as healer as there are several of them and queue times are short) then alt-f4 then login an hour or so later (it has to be after the raid has finished, so give it an hour or 2) and it should say down the bottom of your screen: Raid complete (name of raid) then it'll reward you the 83 gold and 250 valor

this would be nice if you had all loot better than LFR, wanted the VP without doing the work, nice find if it is confirmed!

I think if you are willing to rerun it and actually do the work, this will still work and you'll be able to roll on drops. It only considers you locked to a boss if you were able to roll and if you weren't present for the boss kill, you won't get locked. I know because I managed to get stuck on the gunship during a spine kill and wasn't locked to it.

Another thing this could be used for is making easy gold, get 83 gold and 250 valor from this. Then go to Sw/Org once you have enough valor and say in trade something like: WTS Valor boots/bracers of your choice! Or something along thos lines

So you alt+F4 after you entered the instance, right? This could be very valuable for me, since i have a lot of chars, yet barely have time to run LFR on my main, would bring enough VPs for some money.

Yeah that's what you do, I entered a raid and the were already fighting but I had to go so I alt+F4'd and logged in an hour or so later and realised that I was still in the instance and it told me I completed the raid.

Maybe that's why you got the valor points then? They never kicked you from the group.....

Yeah you can't kick during battle/shortly after combat so that's probably the most logical explanation...

What would be the point of this exploit ? I mean, if it doesn't say after that "Bosses Already Killed", listing them all in red then it's worth doing, but otherwise you get to pass on all loot you could otherwise use.

Here are some downsides I can think of.

1. You get to not play WoW for 2 hours
2. Miss on gear
3. Miss on Disenchant rolls and shards
4. Miss on fun.
5. Maybe you even get yourself locked and saved, which is not a very nice thing.

Yet there are upsides, if i have 7 lvl85s. I just get the VP + the gold. Otherwise I dont even touch them for a week.

Anyways, OP got the VPs/gold, because he wasnt probably kicked from the raid. I tried this today on 2 chars, none of them got the VPs. So thread lockable.

What would be the point of this exploit

The point is for people like me, that do not run instances or raids at all (I explore and fish), but I am still interested in gear, and pick up the odd piece from the AH periodically. I do not care about missing out on rolls, or disenchants or shards, I would just like to accumulate VP for doing nothing.

This exploit would allow me to get VP, which I can turn into gear, without running the instances.

I'm having some trouble replicating this, but I do think it's possible. Just a few questions for OP:
1. What fight was the group on before you DC'd?
2. How many fights had you done in that LFR already? (Siege or Fall)

A side note: I started a fresh Siege LFR (already did them both for VP, was trying for the gold) and DC'd during the load screen to see what would happen, several hours later I logged back in and was in instance with Deserter Debuff.

Same for me, though i alt+f4d after jumping twice inside.
