Need before greed bug

I was in ICC 25m getting shards for a fellow warrior.

I am not on that part of the quest and previously was not allowed to roll on them(Rolls were set on Need Before Greed).

I died on an elevator, ressed and tried to get back in while they were fighting sindy.. I was not able to since encounter was in progress. Once they downed her I zoned in immediately and the need before greed roll popped up and I was able to select need and won it I did give it to him but maybe this might work for getting alts loot or something

This is an old "bug". Back in the day as long as someone was on The Splintered Throne - Quest - World of Warcraft, whether or not they are done with the quest, you could master loot or need on the shards to someone else who isn't on the quest.

In other words, as long as someone is on The Splintered Throne - Quest - World of Warcraft, any plate class can loot Shadowfrost Shard - Item - World of Warcraft via need/greed or master loot. I tried a quick search for it on here, but nothing came up. But it has been mentioned on wowhead ( Shadowfrost Shard - Item - World of Warcraft ) before. So defo not new.
