Part of the catch with this exploit is that *eventually* you have to beat high rated teams. If you are normally a 1500 rated player you will not be able to get glad with this exploit. Those 3200 koreans are probably usually 2500 rated or something, but using this exploit every time they beat other 2500 rated players their team rating goes up by 96, and every time they lose to a 2500 team their team rating does not go down (since your team rating doesnt go down until it matches your MMR)

Guide for dummies:

Step one: Find three friends who dont give a shit about arena
Step two: Make a 3v3 team using those friends' characters
Step three: Intentionally lose TONS of games, so their mmr gets super low
Step four: Join the team on your main
Step five: win tons of games (since you tanked the mmr of those alt toons, the teams you fight will be super bad)
Step six: Every win will boost your mains mmr by 15-30. Do this until your mmr is 3000-3500.
Step seven: Once your teams mmr is super high (3000-3500), you wont lose any team/personal rating for a loss, and you'll gain 96 for a win.


The point of it is that if you have the time and patience, even if you lose 99% of all games, you will still go up team/personal rating (you will only lose mmr, but you can always boost that back up when it starts to get low again).

What i can drop mmr more effectively on my twink? Something i receive -3 mmr when lose.

Everyone who does that will be reported from people who win or lost due to the High match making will be baned and their teams reseted.

Lol for the bot spam. Very nice find though. I'm not big into arenas, but would love glad. If this keeps working, I am using it next season.

I debated this but came to the decision that Blizzard never intended 2200 players to play with 400 mmr players and achieve 3k+ MMRs. From the definition of online gaming exploit "design flaw by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.", this method should surely be described as an exploit and not just a guide.

For anyone planning to use this next season, it seems it will still be possible BUT
The individual Matchmaking Rating column has been removed from the Arena scoreboard. Official Blue Post.

So not being able to see your individual MMR will make this substantially harder. Although if you have a good feel of your MMR you should still be able to do it.

Funny you should mention this cause I was thinking the exact same thing. In S8 I once saw a 3200 team whose team never passed 2700 and I always wondered WHAT THE HELL? It's very possible this exploit was used by them. Also it should be really easy to read your MMR via Cheat Engine if you join a game by yourself and then search the exact value and then value decreased, no?

play lots of arena, still don't understand.. Won't blizzard make you fight harder opposing teams when your higher rated mains join. Since their mmr will be higher...?

There's pretty substantial proof of this working now that the season is over.

Two teams , same server, tied @ 3600. First team record: 59-60, second team's record: 58-60


Also, you could use this to get your 2200 weapons super fast :P
