I have found a bug, which will help you speeding up the "Gemcrafter Extraordinaire" Guild Achievement:
You do not need to actually cut a gem. Transmution of a gem also works towards the achievement.

As you can see, it also includes transmution proccs.

Excellent find! It's a shame the achievement is pointless though, as it does not reward any useful perk or pattern like most other profession achievements.

how is this working as intended?
The achievement clearly states, that you need to "cut" a gem of superior quality. But you also get credit for transmuting one (additionally to the cutting).

Anyway's Transmuting/Cutting is technically the same thing, specially if you have the guild perk, which blizz ALREADY explained. Ooh and you can also gainh skill points for gathering with grey item when you have the guild perk, to. so...

If you were correct, ntsmarkv, and if it was indeed working as intended, why do we not get credit for this achievement when we mine gems, or get them from prospecting? We don't, and the result is the same, we create an uncut gem. Therefore, it is NOT working as intended, and this is indeed an exploit, to get the achievement faster.
