So my method is still better?

Not really...it costs a lot of mana, cast time, has a cooldown, and you can't get stacks as fast as holy nova, however they're different classes so it really doesn't matter if ones better than the other since both the classes can not choose which one they would like to use. And it really doesn't matter which is better because i posted this for priests, an easy way to keep your stacks up if they are about to fall off.

Or you could just use renew before the gates open, if talented correctly they even provide an initial % of their heal instantly when applied. And it keeps the stack going, just like riptide does for shaman

works with every class on different mechanics. It's a nice use of properly working game mechanics, but it is not an exploit.
