Fun with post 4.0.3a Gammon

Hey folks, First posting to mmowned, but been reading a while.

As we all know, Gammon is now a level 85 elite that hits like a TRUCK.

and, as always, people cant resist trying to kill him.

but we can use this to have a little bit of fun.

i will have to take screenshots of this once i get home (work atm) but here is how it works:

you can stand on a few of the signposts around org. some of them let you evade bug gammon.

using this me and some friends have developed a bit of a game:

i'll pull gammon out of the inn and run him past the post. whoever is on the post snaps aggro on gammon.
gammon evades and stands there like a dolt (he is good at this.... ).

While he is out, people will naturally start attacking him (it IS gammon after all.) and will get "evade, evade, evade" messages. post person stops Evade bugging gammon once people start attacking him.

after he switches off the evaded person, he goes around wrecking FACE on the crowd.

and if enough people try to kill your pissed off minion: get a tank on the post to taunt him. he evades, gets full HP back, and then continues the facemelting awsome.

Great way to spend time while waiting for BGs and other groups!

Of course it is a exploit. He is exploiting a evade bug in order to grief people. Clearly blizzard did not intend for this to be possible.

Its a minor exploit and maybe i didn't explain myself well enough. I'm not very good at it.

i pull gammon out of the inn with FFF

our tank or a DPS with a taunt takes gammon off me while post standing

Gammon evade bugs. players begin attacking him. Post-er stops attacking gammon.

gamon comes back after me. someone hits gammon and he loses threat on me and chases off after random players.


the second part is that when people get close to killing gammon, i taunt him toward the post again and our post-er taunts off me, evade bugging gamon, resetting his HP. afterward he continues his rampage.




did i post this in the wrong area? it might be more of a harassment than an exploit :'(

it would be an exploit if he wouldn't attack targets in meleerange when he is rooted. the mechanic atm is working as intended.

am i failing to explain myself correctly here? please re-read my 2 posts.

the bug isnt that he continues killing people while evade bugged. its more that people see gammon standing there, figure "k he is under control, gogo dps!" then we stop evade bugging him (stop attacks, feign, etc) and let him rampage amongst the crowd that is always outside hellderp tower.

as someone said above, its more a harassment thing. minor glitch in terrain, not a bug in the evade system.

Hey I've been reading the forums for a while now and finally decided to start posting/contributing... had to make a new forum name though cause my old one was my character's name.

Regardless if this is an exlpoit or not, it's easy to trick people into thinking someone's gonna be tanking Gamon. This probably works better on a high pop sever... I only manged to trick a single Mage :P

Just got up on the post, whispered someone to pull him, and cast a couple Searing Pain. The Mage came up and started attacking him and ended up getting aggro when evade ended.

^ that's the spot i was using too. its more convenient than the spot the person who wrote the guide posted, as it is closer to the inn.

I'll look for some more spots tonight after work and my birthday celebrations

What i like to do is pull him outside of org where people are dueling, so when they aoe they hit him and get killed lol

Hey folks quick note: if you hacve not allready seen from updates:

Gammon now has some additional abilities. like a charge. and a 2h axe.

i suggest pulling with roots, then having someone taunt off you as you run for the @#$%ing hills!!!!!

Or you can just pull and vanish / invis / out run him and he will go back to killing the others.

I personally kite him let peopel beat on him then go invis with my mage. Funny how he owns people.

Not an exploit just common sense.

He now charges.... I suggest not ****ing with him.
