Warlocks can do this without the Balboa Rocksalt, all they have to do is summon one of their minions (voidwalker for example) and the rest is exactly the same

The spring rabbits are definitely the best choice. They scatter every where and make baby bunnies that are marked as unkillable critters, which also scatter.
