Wrathful gear without rating

This happened in BC.
Gear got refunded, but several people were banned for doing it on multiple characters,
I can't be bothered getting the source.

I know it happened with the offhand axe or whatever from season 4. Still have it on 4 different toons.

From memory it worked on Rogue, Warr & Mage.

I just received an email from Blizz telling me my account has been permanently banned for exploiting game mechanics with a custom form entry of 'exploiting patch errors - Arena Items'. They couldnt introduce a f*cking patch without a thousand bugs crippling many servers but they had the people their bothering to investigate and ban me FOR SOMETHING THEY DID AND EVEN CALL A 'PATCH ERROR".

I have never had so much as a suspension before and of course will be appealing. I bought atleast 2 pieces of wrathful for 5 of my characters so it might be because I did it so often but thought I'd make an account and warn ppl against doing it too much.

Just for the possible brightside to this exploit. It may not be an exploit. Just patch error ... thing. This topic has made its way to the Blizz forums now, and I have read alot about how it was intended. Nothing official from GM's of course, but still I don't think a ban hammer will come of it with so much legit talk on the forums as well. But then again, Blizz may not give two shits about it and decide that your $15/month is an acceptable loss.
