It seems to be very random then, when I was grouped with my friend she said I was not stealthed at all and was wondering what I was talking about.

Folks, let me redirect you to

Where I proved it's NOT client sided.
Good find, +rep
Let's put a smile on that face.
I'll take your word for it that it's working since bizkit and a few others got it to work.
However I'd like to see a video of this (multi-perspective[night elf PoV and other person (not grouped) PoV]).

Just need one from a different PoV now :S
*EDIT*
I just cruised around ironforge on Blackrock asking a bunch of random people what they saw, making the video now with commentary.

While the quality of the IF video is pretty crappy, it makes sense (ToT helps out to understand the situation).
Next question: If you enter combat like that, are you still glitched ShM or can they see you normally?
Edit for those who can't get the videos above to work:

Yes it works in combat BUT it is very strict in what you can and cannot do, for example:
You can only user Overpower after the opponent dodges yeah? Well that means you gain the ability, anything that involves gaining/losing abilities buffs even items, if you gain/lose an ability or buff, then it breaks. even changing stances as a warrior breaks it. so yeah.
^ should place your video links in the first post, they've made me a believer, heh.
Though doesn't mounting count as a 'buff'? I wonder why it doesn't remove the effect like using other methods do.
PS: Invisible mining/gathering a possibility o.0?
let me get this straight.
it works in a certain radius: if your friend was near to you at the time you replicate the bug, his client also replicates the bug showing him that you are stealthed or trasparent.
anyway you don't retain the shadowmeld buff so when someone comes the client loads up your character and seeing there's no shadowmeld buff it shows your character as it was normally visible.
i guess it works in the arenas, after the match starts since you are being "watched" from your enemies client for the duration of the match
i don't have a high level nightelf to test.
-- edit
just tried with 2 clients with lvl1 nightelves, and it works exactly as i said before. but it's only a visual effect, you don't retain the effective stealth of shadowmeld. it's like drinking an Ethereal Oil

Already stated that there is no Shadowmeld effect with this bug.
fun trick, might try in arena later. Whats the macro you're using?
