The discovery of spies isn't based on the amount of distance travelled by the Spirit Wolf, but the amount of time passed since it was summoned. You (and it) could attack mobs the whole time (wolf walking nowhere), and it would still "find" a spy after the alloted time has passsed. Usually after the 3rd or 4th mob dies.

At least, that's what I do. No point waiting around doing nothing while it "searches". Might as well make some money... with it's help.

Thottstaion is correct. It doesn't matter how fast the Worg runs, it's time based.

Therein lies your problem. You can't test things by guessing. Your perspective makes it "seem" like it's changed because you're expecting it to.

It is defiantly time based, not distance based.
