Retrieve Corpse From Far Into Fatigued Water

Not sure if this has been posted, did a search didn't come up with anything. If it has i'm sorry.

I haven't played in a long time but it used to be that if you died in fatigue water further out than your ghost could run you would have to spirit res, or take a queue for a BG.

Since they changed the BG queuing so you can't accept one while you're dead I figured that when you died way out in fatigued water you'd have to spirit res.

    This is not the case!

If you run out and die as a ghost in fatigue water your new corpse appears where your ghost died, so if you simply run so your just in fatigued water and wait to die you can then re run out and collect your corpse from where your ghost died.

Does not always work. I haven't actually seen this work yet.

I died in Vault due to a disconnection. I wasn't able to get back on for over an hour. By this time, my faction had lost WG so I couldn't re-enter the instance to recover my body.

I didn't really want to wait for us to control WG again. I also didn't want to pay boosted repair cost on 3 sets of gear. I had the idea to run out of WG into fatigue water to just take 10% item damage. Fatigued until dead again.

Now, prior to the fatigue death... I had the "Here is your corpse" headstone... pointing to Vault. Upon fatigue death... I had NO headstone. There was no-place I could go besides the spirit-healer to be rezzed.

I ended up filing a ticket and logging to an alt. About 30 min later the GM agreed to rez me since the whole thing was a result of the bugged way VoA functions when you die and the faction change takes place.

Edit: Possibly works fine for OPs purpose(recovery of body far out at sea). Just pointing out that fatiguing at sea isn't a solution for other rezzing issues.

Might just be because you were in an instance?

This (if it works for me) will be a great way of getting low level characters past tough areas etc

using the sea as my railroad

yea, but i dont see how? ur ghost will always die at the same place since the fatigue will always go down at the same speed. so even with this u cant reach more places than before.

The reasoning behind this is that when a character "dies" the typical thing to happen except in the case of dk self ghoul rez [removed] and priest second spirit thingy is that you are marked with a ghost debuff and sent to a phased death version of the zone your corpse's graveyard was closest to.

As a ghost you do not have 0 hp like a dead person, so the game counts you as a living player to allow you to move and conequently you are subject to fatigue.

If in pre expansion water you do this what will happen is you will just die again as a ghost and be teleported tot he graveyard and take another 10% durability damage

TL;DR: Useless because if you flew or mount rode off into the ocean and died of fatigue it would take 2-4 ghost runs to get your body to interior from fatigue lines and that would cost just as much or mroe as a spirit res unless you carry around 2-3 sets of gear
