arena matchmaking rating after patch

It did not used to count back in the early seasons. I'm not sure about now, it would be trivial to add a check for gear as part of the calculation. I doubt it matters much though overall. The output of blizzard's algorithm is a value called Skill so gear could easily be part of the input or not...

"First and foremost, the primary goal of the new Arena matchmaking system is to match players against opponents of similar skill, regardless of your or your opponents’ team rating. This means that once an estimated skill level is determined, you will more likely be matched against other players of a similar skill level. Please note that the estimated skill level is constantly being evaluated and will adjust based on each team’s continual performance. Who the heck came out with an idea that matchmaking has anything to do with your gear?! Just to clarify... MATCHMAKING SYSTEM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GEAR.

Wrong, they have never stated or suggested gear has anything to do with who you face. Keep thinking that though, if it makes you feel better about being stuck in the 1700s.

Matchmaking rating = your win \ loss ratio in a point based format.

Nothing else.

At the moment the gear isn´t important in the Matchmaking system, at Season 6 some crap get added.

haha you are talking about the battleground matchmaking/queue system

THERE the gear is a factor yes (since middle bc or so) but this system has nothing to do with Arena.

And also the Matchmaking rating system has nothing to do with the battleground matchmaking/gearcheck system.
