Yeah, PTR test would be appreciated.

We can assume
a. The ones who had it not working were doing it wrong.
or
b. It only works on certain servers because different cores are used.
Either way, this is the craziest thing I've seen in a while. Blizzard falling for an overflow, LOL GG.
Another note. If this is done by the gold system that manages mail (as opposed to AH), could this be applies to cause wacky effects on the CoD?

I dont understand game mechanics that much but it just crossed my mind does it have something to do with very item placed at AH coz all items but enchanting shards and dusts have initial fee.
As I readed someone tried it with kingsblood which do have initial fee and therefor may change overall calculation or mine speculation is false?
Reading this from page 1 at 3 am was a huge mistake.
LOLZI bet all of these math equations are like porn to half the dorks here.
The maximum amount of gold you can carry was raised some minor patches ago if im not wrong. If i remember right they also changed AH mechanics slightly so this might not work anymore...
otherwise, would be very cool to know if this is really working![]()
Essentially what he is saying is that the number would in THEORY overflow the max and be reset back to zero before counting back up. I will try to explain:
I guess quite a few of you will understand binary to the point where you know the maximum number for an 8-string binary is 255. If the amount of gold was high enough to have a fee of over 255, it is POSSIBLE that it would get to 255 then reset to 1, so if the fee should be 256g it would be 1g. Wows values are held slightly differently but in theory if you had the max. amount of gold this would work.
I think thats what he means anyway :P
this is a sound concept, but why would blizz not check the overflow? too basic for blizz to not do
way too risky to test
