[Exploit] Insane Hunter DPS Buff

There is a current bug with the hunter talent- Lock and Load - Spell - World of Warcraft

Lock and Load- You have a 100% chance when you trap a target and a 10% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Serpent Sting to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot spells to trigger no cooldown, cost no mana and consume no ammo. 30 second cooldown.

With the 10% proc, the sting should theoretically (assuming no rng) proc every 30 seconds: pushing hunters away from the trap dancing method of DPS.

Trap Dancing-Laying a trap at a boss's feet to get a 100% proc for LnL then running back out to continue DPS.

This 30 second cooldown means traps like Immolation Trap - Spell - World of Warcraft would normally not trigger Lock and Load because of the small hidden cool-down if used right after a Lock and Load Proc from a sting.

The Exploit to increase your dps
Frost Trap - Spell - World of Warcraft is not being effected by the 30 second cooldown on LnL. So you can get a LnL proc using a sting, then run up and use the trap right after, avoiding that nasty cooldown. The same should apply using Frost Trap to trap dance, while still getting procs from Serpent Sting(2).

I have not tested if option (2) is better or not, because you are missing out on the damage from Imo. Trap: but who knows...Test for yourself =D

mm i got an 80 hunter, currently beast mastery spec with 20 in marksman.. so i haven't tried any of the survival stuff.. sounds neat though..

Sniper training is equal to the damage you recieve from trap dancing. Althought avoiding the LnL CD, may make it worth it.

The reason i explained it the way i did was so everyone could comprehend what is going on hopefully, because not all are hunters.

This was known on ptr + dozens of posts at AJ about it, no offence, just want to say that if you care about your hunter, you probably know this.

Uhm, the problem is...

Frost/Freezing Traps won't work on bosses (Immune!). So basicaly your saying that you can do "insane" DPS on Trash, with 3 free Arcane- or Explosive-Shots. Notice the quotation marks I used there? I think 3 ES (even though they definately ARE decent after patch) every 24 Seconds (talented)... or even let's say with SerpentSting Proc in between... gah... forget it... It's Trash goddamn it! Volley would still be superior with 5+ Mobs. I'm sorry, but can't see any good from this.

And it may even be intended, because for a Survival-Hunter in PvP a Serpent-Proc on an Enemy would ruin a massive "Frost-Trap/L&L/Point of No escape" burst. But I'm not PvPing yet, so can't test this.
I'll still rep you for that last part though, if it's really working like that it will help a lot in PvP.

This works on whatshisface on 25man Vault, There is supose to be a 30second cooldown timer on LnL, So you proc it, then go frost trap and BAM another LnL

Very nice! Good for PvP, and probably fun to play around with on the very bring trash in naxx! Even tho ppl think this is "common sence" , "Class mechanics" or whatever, this skill has a 30second hidden cooldown and thus should not be able to proc twice in 30seconds!
