Im currently level 47.

1) During the time of the battle I couldn't find any mobs what so ever. Seems like you can't see them during the battle (atleast not at level 47)
2) I got 500xp per kill (The guards).
3) It's not worth the time and effort.

If you read the thread you'd know that the exp/loot portion of this was fixed in 3.0.8
