- Find a friend you trust with your gold
- Trade all of your gold to your friend
- Talk with a trainer to respec and while the window is open make a trade FROM your friend to you for the total cost of the respec
- Accept the trade from your friend, then accept the respec free, log out quickly and the money should still be in your bag.

It might have been a glitch for the OP, but your gold might now have cost anything either. Even though the odds of that second theory are low since your window probably said you need X amount of gold. Anyway, I'll give you +Rep for trying to contribute. =)

I can see how it would work. When you have a trade window open and have placed gold in it, it will withdraw from your bag pre - transfer. I could see it happening the other way around.

Does not work, and I doubt he ever even tested it based on this other guys posts.
