Also, this can be used for advantages as well, as Soul Eater's pointed out in this thread. It's been noted that if you're a warlock, you can use Curse of Recklessness your teammate, which is basically a Fear Ward (in fact, when Curse of Recklessness is up they're immune to Death Coil too).

Then why go through the effort when you can do this the easy way by just dueling your partner before you enter an arena game and curse him??? lol.... useless but ok

All your buffs and conjured items are deleted when you enter an arena. Otherwise people would have healthstones made for them and every class buffing them while in queue.
