I myself have at some points believedthis.. but it would be insanely impractical to render a 3d world like that.

these teleports are due to the data becoming corrupt as it goes from client to server... for example... many places tele to stonetalon cuz Kalimdor's 0,0,0 coordinates are in northwest Stranglethorn, just above the ground. so if you start a transport, but interrupt it without the server saving your loc., it will send you to 0,0,0. check out my thread bout the theory... should be locked at back of forums... something like "what WoW really looks like"




South Silithus has been accessible by players before, also. it was originally intended to be a Burning Crusade region unlocked through AQ, but the idea was scrapped soon after, so you can still see flattened pleateaus where goblin townswere supposed to be

not back when WoW had problems with people "falling throught the earth" this happened to me in grom grol. i was like a lvl 19 twink and just landed in grom grol. a ally priest was there and MC'd me . back then i was a nub and thought OMGZ ima die so i exed out of WoW and then i thought it would log me out. no it didnt. this thing used to happen with duels and such infront of teh org gate also.

so when i logged back in. i would appear under grom grol.. bc i could see grom grol but i was lets say 5 feet under the surface so my head would just appear above the ground every ones like WTF mate. but after i went out swimming. it de bugged and map showed silithus

This also leads to the next question that can be applied to real life... Where does the sky start, and wheres does "sky" stop and become space?

Sky starts at ground level.

Sky stops around the stratosphere, after that it sort of dwindles into space since there is no "blue:ish" left then. (There is still atmosphere though)
