    Starting zone and other questions

    Hey guys, im using a 2.4.3 Trinitycore 1 repack, and i have a few questions

    1: How do i change the starting zone, i want for every character no matter class/race to start in blasted lands at the dark portal, but i dont know what table in db i need to change or maybe dbc edit if so please tell how.

    2: I want to change some areas into free for all pvp and some in pvp disabled, i think that is with dbc edit but i have no idea how... i looked around a bit but couldnt find anything please tell me what programs to use or so.

    3: i want to know how to change the class names into different, for example change hunter into sniper and rogue into ninja. Also i want to change spells names, area names and background music into my own. Yes i know for this last thing is probably dbc edits and im sure theres a custom patch needed for players, but thats totally fine. If you know how to do it or a guide that explains it please post it i would be very grateful

    thanks and +rep for who help me.

    1) look at the table playercreateinfo in your world DB
    2) DBC edit: you have to edit AreaTable.dbc
    column 29, possible values:
    2 = alliance
    4 = horde
    6 = sanctuary

    3) A lot of dbc edits too, in spells.dbc, as for the music make sure you use mycraftstudio for adding your custom mp3s. Make custom MPQ patches replacing the mp3s found in Sound\Music\ZoneMusic without changing the names and put them in your data folder.

    Begin with basic stuff, get them working one at at a time and you will be fine.

    There are some programs that work for editing DBC's straight, but I suggest finding a DBC to CSV converter and modifying the new CSV files in Excel, then using the same program to convert them back to DBC.

    Program is simply called "DBC to CSV.exe". I'd give you the link, but I don't have it anymore as I wiped my computer recently.

    EDIT: At least that's what I did. I know some people complain of content being damaged/lost, but I've never had that issue.
    Otherwise, a good dbc editor is simply called DBC Editor, I think it can actually be found on this forum.

    Best DBC editor that never gave me problems with the TBC client is Taliis_DBC_rev162: Fast and very reliable, make sure you install the java runtime as this program require that. BTW DBCTool sometimes give errors when saving certain types of data, like editing some columns that were incorrectly detected as integers when they were floats and so on. And as for DBC to CSV converters is not recommended as you might lost some data, between conversions.

    hmm i think i'll stick with taliis since my excel is kinda weird... however i cant seem to find the right field to change. i checked the #29th column and theres all 0's in it. Are you sure i have to change that? btw in the configs my realm is set to have ffa pvp everywhere, just i wanted to change "blasted lands" to a sanctuary.

    I found the following guide posted in a different section. It will walk you through how to make blasted lands into a sanctuary.
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...sanctuary.html

    If your config is set to ffa pvp everywhere, it doesn't matter because the core ignores places marked as sanctuary in the dbc files.

    Here is a link to see the dbc structure for most of the files, just bear in mind the data changes from client to client sometimes. And if you dont get working by just editing the dbcs its need a core patch too, like the above poster wrote, for pvp flag data there is a specific section of code in the core, Category:World of Warcraft DBC Files - wiki.nibbits.com
