Strange Cataclysm installation error about 3.3.0.19077.

Hi guys,

First, I must say that I'm french, so sorry for my bad english, and sorry too if I post in the wrong section, I don't understand every english words .

So ! I really need your help ! I feel really lost .

I have download an esUS Wotlk. And In fact, I don't know which version was needed to launch the install of Cataclysm. (I have Cataclysm Pre-Release 11927 enUS). So I try to launch it, and it told me that I must have Wotlk in 3.3.0.10944.

And this build, 10944, doesn't really exist right ? Or I am a moron ?

I've tried to apply Cataclysm to every version of wow, from 3.0.1 to 3.3.3a, with downgrade with the repair.exe everytime, withou any sucess. A friend has the same problem.

And above 3.3.X, I get this error => This update requires "WLK" version 3.3.0.10944.


Can you help me ? Pleeease .

Where is your WoW folder located? It may just not be finding the folder properly.

On Windows 7 and Vista it Belongs in

Users/Public/Games/World of Warcraft

On Windows XP it belongs in

Program Files/World of Warcraft

This is a very rough guess, but I can't think of any other blatant reason why the install should fail.

[Edit]: You also want to make sure the World of Warcraft folder and all of the files in the folder are named properly.

As well, I see you play a french client, but downloaded an enUS one. This is likely where the problem lies. Move your enUS WoW folder into the same directory as your french client. Temporarily rename your french client folder, and name the enUS folder World of Warcraft.

The installer likely isn't able to find your enUS client, due to the fact that the french client is in it's place.
(Granted my theory is correct)

Get the Cataclysm enGB installer not enUS. Mabey that will help?
