connection failure from other systems?

ok i have tried everything possible. but no matter how i config the logon file i either get an error saying that it cannot connect to the mysql server on that host. or that the IP cannot connect to the MySQL server on my computer. i have followed the tutorials and am not getting the password error cause i have all that worked out. but i cant connect to it. no firewall either. just wont connect. Can someone please give me a step by step on the config files. i already forwarded all my ports also by the way. please im running arcEmu also.

... Can you rephrase how you have written this please, what i can pick out is that your MySQL wont connect? or something else?

If its on your machine there is only one way to config it:

localhost--Because your configuring the server locally
username
password

The username and password is most likely root and ascent, unless this is your own MySQL server not one provided in a repack, in which case it will be whatever you defined.

so i leave it localhost an root? then another computer can access it?

if so what do i change on the allowed IP section at the bottom to let other people connect..do i change it to my external ip that my dns is set to? or do i leave it 0.0.0.0 to listen to all addresses?

The only thing you change is under realms.conf.

Everything else needs to be localhost. Username: root, password: ascent.
