delete directory cache?

hey guys i just signed up to a wow private server (wowbeez) and i did the realmlist shizz, but now they want me to delete directory cache? what does the 'cache' do? i want to (in the future) play retail wow too... will this affect it?

The cache can be found in your main wow folder and does nothing but hold your in game preferences and item information for faster load times.
You always want to delete your cache folder every time you go on a new server or back to retail.
This is so when you go on a private server and look at custom items etc it will give you the correct info and also when switching back to retail from private, if you don't delete your cache folder, you will see items as if it was on the private server...
Imagine on a private server they sometimes rename or even add spells to things like a hearthstone that teleports you around...when you go back to retail and look at your hearthstone, you would still see it as the teleporter.

ok tired and writing you a book you don't need lol....in short delete the folder, it in no way effects you going back to retail.
