Updating into new version! please help!

hi, i looked up but i did not find anyone who asked this question before?

i want to update into johved new repack it has alot of bug fixes, but i am afraid i would lose my database: bosses, characters, and accounts.
But i can copy scripts to the other repack, will it work?

-if i just copied the database folder into the new repack, will it work? all the bug fixes will stay? i also have 2k accounts on my server, i cant afford losing all of them!
Please help me i need quick help!

Dump your whole Data base and just copy/paste your LUA scripts over. In my opinion, if your running that big of a server, you should compile your own core. Would make updating a lot easier.

I dont know what version of johved your downloading but i recently tryed version 2.1 currently it is extremely buggy instances dont load, items have no stats, and a few otehr things. but yeah if you want to host a good server i strongly suggest compiling your own core ive recently compiled my own its quite easy i followed this guide

Thanks for the reply guys , i decided to compile my own core, as you said i need c++ scripts for jailing and these king of stuff, thanks anyways

and poof go the 2k accounts. repacks are made for reasons unknown. only compiled servers should be used for that size of a server.

This is why I have two servers, Web & account server then Core and main DB server.

To fix your problem, do what Linkn said: open up your DB using Navicat or SQLyog and dump the Logon and Character databases and store them somewhere safely (and use as a backup too).
About the main DB, depending on whether you want brand new stuff or not, I would get a new, clean and up-to-date one.
