hamachi for MAC

A MAC using friend of mine is trying to get Hamachi to work. He's tried Hamachi X which does work, but isn't very reliable and tends to disconnect.. a lot. When he tries downloading Hamachi for MAC off the Hamachi site, he has to run it though the terminal. When he does this he gets something saying like "please run through the root account". If we understand "root account" properly (most privileged account on the computer) he SHOULDN'T be having problems but its not letting him install. Any ideas?

Open your terminal, type "sh" (without the quotes ofcourse), enter your root password. Now run it.
