I don't even think the emulator uses winsock anymoar. :O

This is really f'n old dude, like with Gamemonkey and shit. Maybe try compiling a newer rev or degrading back to windows 98 :P.

cant upgrade but thanks. its only like a year to year and a half old. cause i started using it when it was new. then you reach the point of no return. where if you keep going with the current path of customizing you cant start over to upgrade without reinvesting the time over again...i decided to keep going the custom route because i enjoy it more. updating the server isn't even the problem its updating all the dbc files and models. skins too i guess for the new wotlk. i tried downloading several versions of the source and none of them have the files listed so i don't know why its looking for them. i must have done something wrong but i dont know where.

it is possible. 100% just i don't have the time to invest in it to bring a new updated server up to par with this one. new wow client means new dbc files. they always change something in the dbc files so i will have to redo them. thats 2000+ spells alone for the upgradeable pet system. not to mention i removed females as playable characters and put in 10 other races leaving the female npc's in game untouched. plus added a race to the creation page and all races can be any class. but the thing that keeps me here most are the models i have made and altered(and downloaded from other fine peoples here). weapons, creatures. My garunda race alone. i love playing that toon. i dont have the means to update the models myself. im not that good. i have made an upgradeable weapons system for the server as well not to mention the many many many little tweaks and changes that i dont even remember half of. but would need to do again. there is nothing wrong with my server i like it allot and why waste all that time bringing a new one up to speed. every thing i read says how easy it is to compile so i just need some help compiling this one. i have a few alterations i would like to make and i cant do it without compiling. so any help would be most appreciated. im not inept i have just never done this before.
