need help adding lua timers!

i want to add a lua timer to my boss so after say 10 mins if the boss is not dead, he enrages or casts hand of death to wipe the raid
could someone explain how to do this, also i need help on Lua triggers say u kill a boss and it activates a door, thanks! <3

pUnit:RegisterEvent("Mobsname_Areadeath", 36000, 1) <--- 36000 is 10 mins.

function Mobsname_Areadeath (pUnit, event)
pUnit:FullCastSpellOnTarget(SPELLID, pUnit:GetClosestPlayer())

Then in the SPELLID spot put the Spell id for AREADEATHTOUCH from thotbot.

Im not an expert at LUA by anymeans and someone else might give you a better answer.. The only problem is i think the ends and removeevents might stop the counter..

You may have to add one of those with a different timer on each phase. IE If its a 4 phase fight well 10/4 =2.5 So give them 2.5 minutes per phase or it goes off..
So for the time on each phase put 9000 which is 4 mins..
