I dont know if you already fixed proble but I did notice that your remote passwords dont match. If they dont match server will crash

Dude, i haven't.. noone knows what's wrong. And remote password does match. it's the same, and it's not coming up with that error cause remote password.

hi umm i have mafiaboy repack V4 and i got it to start up and everything work great but when my friends try to get on they get dc after the loading screen fades

Hi I would just like to say thanks to Zackala for taking his time to post this great guide I've been looking for a private server ever since 2.3 came out and messed up my Mangos. I followed all the steps and set my server up with ease however I am having a slight problem it lets me log on and create a character but when I try to log in with that char or any for that matter it only lets me in for a second then it gets disconnected any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently using Ascent 2.4 STABLE, & the mafiaboy v4 repack. I play on the live servers as well as switching over to the private to test out new specs, or gear setups so that way I don't have to spend my own ingame gold for something that I won't like or doesn't work as well as before. Anyhow the new patch has come out 2.3.2, & when I switch to the private server, log in, enter world, as soon as it loads I get disconnected. If I switch it back to access the blizzard live realms I connect & enter game without any problems. Since I didn't have the issue before the patch, I figure the patch is the cause of my problems, but I don't have any idea how to fix this. Since I am new to this private server business I don't know where to go for a fix or how to fix myself. Any information on how to fix this would be great.

I have heard that there is a new ascent available 2.5 TRUNK I think. Would this be a possible fix to my issue? If so do I just install it the same way that I did following the guide? or b/c I have 2.4 already installed do I have to do something different?

Another question that I had is that with this version, is that in the title it says it works with 2.3 which it does, you just can't access ZA, ZA items, the new heroic badge items, the new pvp trinkets, or S3 gear. Is there a new repack with this enabled? or a link to a guide & repack that would allow access to this?

I am not sure if this has been answered or if what I am about to say will be of any benefit to you, but I am going to give it a shot anyhow.

Whenever I run a program like PConPoint, Regcure, RegisteryFix, etc it typically finds an system process error if you are able to look at the details it deals with MySQL, & if you don't deselect it & allow that process to be deleted then I have to run the config again. B/c when I go to run logon server it fails. When it does I go though the config for setting up MySQL again, & I follow all fo the steps in the guide, when I get to the execute part I get the same error that is in your screenshot. I press skip & get back to the screen & press execute there, it should stop at system process with an x. At this point you should be able to exit the config. What this means to me is that the system process is already in your computer that the mysql was going to setup. When you see this message it usually means that the info that it was going to configure & install was already there, but what it did was it added the missing pieces or process. If you were having server logon issues & it not getting to the hooking stage this should fix it. If not then I might have just helped someone else but not you.

Well, I got so close that I cried when my serv crashed. I got all the way to the character creation screen, made my guy, clicked "Create"...

And it crashed. Could anyone help me out here, I'd really love to get this working.

Not sure about the why your not seeing your realm name, unless there was a mistake made, I would double check that part of it.

In terms of the crashing I believe it is b/c the ascent that this is using, is an older compile & not one made to work with the new 2.3.2 patch. I had the same issue, using 2.3.0 everything worked fine, I upgraded to the new patch 2.3.2 & all of a sudden as soon as I entered the world & could see my character I would get disconnected. If you havn't upgraded your patch yet, I would suggest logging on again, i have read, & have seen that when you enter the world after first creating a character that you can get disconnected. I am working on putting together the new compile & learning how to update older compiles so that way everyone using this post will be able to connect without having the patch issue.

Probobly because your running the wrong version of wow, I had the same problem until I realized I was running 2.3.2.

Speaking of 2.3.2 I would like to make my server future usuable, is there a way to keep my charecters and update still?

Hey, this guide has worked great so far, but i can't open my realms.conf file in any editor. I have tried right-clicking and opening with notepad, but that option isn't available. so what can i do to open the realm.conf file and get this to work?

good post, very easy to follow, however when i try making a character on my server, i get disconnected, any ideas?
