ok i cant seem to log in to any accounts i make, saying something about ascent.server_settings does not exist, and also ascent.characters does not exist.... :S musta done something wrong but i have no idea what, also logonserver.exe is saying that ascent.accounts and ascent.ipbans does not exist

I also had the unable to log in to accounts problem, an easy fix for this is (using the SQLyog, or navicat, or w/e ur weapon of choice is) to open up the database called: accounts, then copy the table "accounts" into the ascent database. but I think that the reason for this is that the logon.conf should be pointing to the accounts database, and not the ascent database, or at least to go along with the rest of this guide's setup.
I'm not sure what "ascent.server_settings" missing means, but I think that the ascent.characters thing is coming from your ascent.conf files. in the ascent.conf files there are 2 places where you fill out the host, name, pass, database fields, the first is for world server, the second is for characters. The worldserver one should be pointing to the ascent database, while the character one should be pointing to the accounts database.
heres a copy of those lines from my config files, so obviously yours might be different but maybe it will give you a better idea of what i'm talking about

<WorldDatabase Hostname = "127.0.0.1" Username = "root" Password = "root" Name = "ascent" Port = "3306" Type = "1">
<CharacterDatabase Hostname = "127.0.0.1" Username = "root" Password = "root" Name = "accounts" Port = "3306" Type = "1">

Maybe those two fixes will get things working for you, or at least get you to the next stage of problems :P

to the OP or anyone else who can help, I also seem to be stuck at the "no-npc" problem with this pack, and I seem to be unable to add npc's manually. This problem has been mentioned before, but I don't see any solution, I'll check back here to see if anyone figures out a fix for this thanks for the help guys

Thats the problem, those lines are alrdy as they should be, but the server is saying that it is missing basically all of the ascent databases.... even some that it is saying i checked and are there fine

i deleted all the databases and remade them and still getting the same errors.

Yeah uuhm, I had that problem before, all i did was changing following... (in the logonserver.conf)

 <LogonDatabase Hostname = "localhost"
               Username = "root"
               Password = "*****"
               Name     = "accounts" <--- (Ascent before)
               Port     = "3306"
               Type     = "1">

Should work, Worked for me

I thought first it lagged little and i waited up to 2 min.

Where is the NPC's?
