Hey dude, nice repack, I believe I got it to work (woohoo first private server )... but it say's unable to validate game version, it's said this for other server's too I believe, is there a way to downgrade my World of Warcraft?

-Edit: Forget I said that . I'm stuck at logging into the game server now

in logonserver.conf change:

Heya all

Thanks very much for this guys. I havent got in yet but im sure it'll be good..

I am having trouble with a kind of loop at the realm screen. realm list comes up i say yep it looks like loading for a couple of seconds then back to realm list so on and so forth... below is my .conf file extracts thought it prob help.
I have tried to keep these pretty much as they were because in sql I have ascent and logon as my 2 db's.

Forgot to mention that changing the realm name seems to make it worse.

Here are a couple of considerations...

1 - you need to forward ports 3306, 3724, 8093, and 8129 to your pc's internal ip. I've been doing all of my testing on 127.0.0.1, and have yet gone to an external ip like yours. This is a critical key for me and my ftp server at home. I ftp to my cable modem, and my router translates the connection to my pc.

2 - do you have peer guardian (or a firewall)? Oddly enough, I have to use my logmein.com account to disable my pg2 app to use my ftp server. If I didn't have pg2 running, my ftp server would work all the time.

If anyone here has more experience with this, or can confirm my thoughts, please provide them and I will edit mine out as needed.

thanks for the very nice guide (It's my 1st time to setup a privat server - easy and fast), but I have some Questions ...

There are so many commands & the WoW menu is very complex. Is there anywhere a list with all or a few commands?! Need the Commands to get all Weapon/Riding Skills to max. First and how I can get the whole Items like Bags ... Need ID's or so?

Where/How can i get the Tier6 ... on the GMIsland i only see the vendor which want's the Token's for the set ...

kk hm *shrugs* I don't know my suggestion would be to install sql first but thats where my and 2d's way of doing things collide.. either way will work.. but if one don't then try the other :P

Here is what I would do

Download mysql install it then go to services stop the service then run your mysql1 from the folder it will populate the db then go back to services start the service if its not started and u can go from there..

One note you may want to completely delete the repack folder on your C:\ drive and re extract it there before you run mysql1 :P


Edit: btw the reason youa re getting this error is because one of your sql files is either missing or not being installed correctly so doing it my way "should" fix this problem for you.. oh and when you install sql un root pw ascent (unless you change the pw in your 3 cfg files :P

Pretty annoyed, Looked real good, but the Mysql1 Never works says it fails then closes...

What is the error message you get when it closes? if its not staying up long enough then go to start then run type services.msc see if you have mysql in the list then right click and stop it then run mysql1.. if you don't have that there then your going to need to post the error you are getting

1. Do a google search for the commands/item numbers they are all over the internet..

2. There is also a vendor there on GM island that sells the tokens :P
