[Epic Guide] Setting Up and Running an ArcEmu Server from Scratch!

Thanks a lot for the guide. Everything has gone smooth till I try to create an account. I have tried adding a row myself into the logon database, and using the "createaccount" command in arcemu-world. Neither effect anything. createaccount does not insert a row. Though I do know that it is connecting to the database because if I change the database name to something incorrect it throws a fit and does not start.

I'm having the same problem with the DBC I obtained.

It isn't letting me log into a character because something about a DBC error.

Why_DB is 3.2.2a right now, so, have you guys not updated your SVNs? are you using the old SVN? (which shouldn't even work anymore). If you don't have the correct SVN, backtrack thu this thread, I know in one of my posts I put what the new SVN addy is. Or, you could just google Why DB & find the SVN addy that way

For jeimuzy, if you are using Navicat, this is what you would put in "account":
"acct" 1 for the 1st account, 2 for the second, etc. "login" the login name you want to use. "password" is obvious . "encrypted password" leave alone/nothing. "gm" the numbers 1 thru 4 gives different levels of Game Master abilities 4 being the most, and the letters az give you Admin abilities. "banned" 0 is not banned 1 is banned, you MUST put 0 or 1 here! "lastlogin", "lastip" & "email" leave alone/nothing. "flags" put 24, that allows both TBC & WotLK to work (I think 0 is original game only, 8 is TBC but not positive, you can find out on the Arcemu wiki pages). "forcelanguage" should already say enUS, leave it unless you are using a different language game. "muted" & "banreason" leave alone/nothing. Now, after you typed all that, down on the bottom of the window near the left side there are a bunch of symbols highlighted, the one you want is a check mark & if you put your mouse over it, it should say "update record", click that & you are done! hope that helps.

Thanks man, got my server up and running now. Had a few problems with arcemu-world crashing and database issues but the fix you mentioned before about taking comments out in optional.conf worked as well.

Isn't that "delete the comments" fix the dumbest thing you ever heard? I'm still baffled that It's what causes the problem. :tard::nuts::lmao:

There was probably some line in there that didn't get fully commented. That or what was reading it in has an error in it. At any point ya its silly they haven't sent out a revision that has fixed it.

Now when i download latest ArcEmy from SVN, do i get wow version 3.3? or 3.2.2? becuse i need the 3.2.2, if i need that. How do i do? If this version is 3.3

Latest ArcEmu is 3.2.2.
When they update to 3.3 you will automatically update to 3.3.

Go to Your DB. Logon > Accounts
Make a new entry

Entry number any #
Acc Name
Password
For flags set 24
For GM set "Az"

So far, every question you have asked has been answered in the last few pages in this thread, including this one. Some on the very same page you're asking on. But, look in "SVN\arcemu\trunk\extras\arcemu-windows-libraries\DLL Files", there are 2 dll's, copy both into your server file (same folder that has arcemu-world.exe in it).

Now please, read the thread before wasting more space on Q's that have already been answered.
