The fist thing you will need to download is Microsoft Visual C++ Express which is fairly large and will be the longest to download. It is needed to compile and edit the ArcEmu source. It can be downloaded here(Note: you do not need to install Microsoft SQL server 200 Also you will need the ArcEmu libraries so that ArcEmu will function properly, this can be found here.

The link for the ArcEmu libraries is actually the link for the Microsoft Visual C++ Express. The link for the MV C++ Express just says "here" but doesnt redirect you.

Ya the list part is wrong....I think I told Moon about it but not sure. Anyway, if you ignore that list part but go to the more detailed part below it, it has the correct links/explanation of directories to get what's needed. The libraries it talks about are gotten where it tells you to transfer from "vc" to "vs" folders...which actually is also wrong because it's "vc" to "vc" folders, lol

Yes, you do. What I am telling you though is that you can still get them, just that the part you quoted has a bad link. The part below it tells you to move the libraries from "ascent-windows-libraries" vc folder (which is actually supposed to say "arcemu-windows-libraries). So, if you did the SVN part of the guide, you have a folder called "arcemu", inside it you already HAVE the libraries, you just have to move them to the ms visual studio VC folder. The directory to find the libraries is "SVN\ArcEmu\trunk\extras\arcemu-windows-libraries".
Which, BTW, I have now pointed out 3 or 4 times throughout this guide. All you guys have to do is read the previous 10 pages & I bet 90% of your questions have already been answered

Everything's working fine, exept there's one problem, whenever i create a character and click finish/create/whatever and it goes back to the login screen and says you have been disconnected. I click okay and do it all over again. Any suggestions???

Ive been thinking on this since last night, but every possibility I come up with, the more I think on it, I realize you wouldn't get to that screen in the 1st place.
The only very minor possibility is the DB or the Emu are older versions 'cause I had that problem a while back (when ArcEMU was attacked by Wowlegacy). So, did you update the SVN of both Arc & WhyDB before doing any of this? Easy way to find out on the DB is go into Navicat, click on "world", then dbl click on "db_version" and tell me the revision & changeset numbers.

I thought of this yesterday but had discounted it because if you just made the server, you should already HAVE the most up to date info.

There is also a very slim possibility it's in your config files, but I don't believe you could have gotten to the char create page if they were wrong. If you want to check those, I have made replies to member BMXer on previous pages with what should be in the configs so just compare yours to them.

If you read the whole thread, you'd have your answer. Hell, just read the previous page & I believe you'd have the answer!
I myself, have answered it at least 4 times in this thread :banghead:

Just to add, this is one of the more simpler guides out there. Better than most, imagery detailed, and easy to follow. Plus I liked the color coded 'Red=required Green=optional'

    Great guide.
