    ok, i finnally got connected and logged on but I have one final problem, it disconnects me whenever I try to create a character

    ya, I randomly get that problem too. I can't really give you a solution because I haven't figured out myself why some days it works, & others it doesn't....have you restarted your computer since getting it to work? If not, that may be worth a shot.

    FJKFJLKDSJFLKDSJFLKSJDLFKJ!!!!

    Well I got it all set up and nice.. but now it just says "Connected".. and won't let me move on to the character selection screen.. I can log on and I can even choose a realm, but it just sits there and says "Connected"... *sigh* I stopped using Mangos because it was just a pain for me.. I've been through 3 different ArcEmu guides today.. I just want a private server.. and I've been at this for 3 days.

    I'll just stay calm.. does anyone know how to fix this problem? ONce again:

    I got every thing set up, there's no errors when I load world or logonserver but in the game it just sits there at "Connected".

    The 1st thing I would check is if the Firewall if blocking it. Oh, and this is less likely, but you did change the two configs with the "change_me_world" & "change_me_logon", right? (not changing those is a VERY common problem).
    Last thing, and this is a guess, how much ram do you have & how much is also running with your server? I find it takes a while for mine to go to the character screen, and I have 1 gig. I noticed it got a tad faster when I shut a bunch of crap down (task bar crap ).

    uh....are you kidding? It tells you what Emu right in the title and in the very 1st post. ArcEMU, not Ascent.

    If you are serious about it, then I'd say you shouldn't make your own server. If you can't even figure that much out I mean......

    Dude I only asked this because in the first picture on your guide you have a folder with ascent-windows-libraries and I was wondering what it was..
    Anyway, I managed to set up the server. But there's one thing bugging me. What version of WoW is this for? Because I get a message saying "Unable to validate game version. This may be caused by file corruption or the interference of another program. Please visit blah blah blah.."

    hehheh, well 1st off, it's not my guide. I just answer questions when I can because the maker seems to be MIA. 2nd, if you read through the whole thread, there is a post where I told someone else that the guide says ascent-windows-libraries but the actual folder is ArcEMU-windows-libraries. There are actually a few minor problems with the guide, I tried to clarify them to people when they came up (I believe Moonblade edited this guide from an old Ascent guide so SOME info is dated, but it's just a guess). 3rd, it's for version 3.0.9 WotLK enabled. And lastly, any thanks for the guide should be directed at moonblade0421

    EDIT: Hey again. I finally have it running with no problems. I can even login, but I don't have any realm, on the realm list :S any idea what I can do to fix it? Here's a screen of world.exe and logonserver.exe just in case you need it.

    O.K., I need way more info than that. I need to see your "arcemu-logonserver.conf" & "arcemu-world.conf". Just copy the text & using the "wrap code tags", place your copied text between them (hopefully you know what I mean ) Then, open Navicat & click on whatever is in the "connections" box, and show me a pic of that.

    I think you are missing something in Navicat, but since you only show a partial of what the .exe's do, I am having to guess where the problem is, so I'm trying to cover all bases.
    So, let me ask before you do all that, Is there a "char", "logon", & "world" under the thing you clicked in Navicat? If you click on them individually, do they all have stuff that pops up on the right? if you answered no to either, do what I said about copying. If it's no to the second part, tell me which ones have nothing.
    I wont be on again tonight, but will check again tomorrow. :nod:
